CAP Reform & Single Payments

The CAP is undergoing yet another major reform, with the usual range of competing pressures bearing down. The agricultural share of the EU budget is sure to shrink and the newer members of the EU club would like a greater percentage share of the smaller cake.

How will this affect farms and other rural enterprises? FCG consultants are in the forefront of advice to help farmers build sustainable rural businesses that are not too reliant on EU subsidies, but that nevertheless seek to maximise their entitlement to them.

CAP reform is an on-going process, and necessitates a careful eye being brought to bear on the effects on farm. What changes in income and expenditure will result from the latest CAP reform on your farm? FCG can help provide the answer, and provide solutions to problems arising.

Milk quota and entitlement values, and the trade in them, are also areas of rural business that FCG consultants are expert in assessing. Milk quota acquisition and disposal, either to dispose of the unwanted asset or to trade it to crystallise a capital loss are tasks that some members are adept at carrying out. There is still a demand for entitlements, and we can help clients assess the way you can maximise the income from them into your farm business.
