Every year when we meet our clients to discuss their Basic Payment Scheme application, one of the first things we do is go through all the maps and check whether any require updating or changing. This can create even more work at a very busy time, and often means that we are submitting the BPS application when mapping changes are still being processed by the RPA.
Everyone should now have access to their online RPA account and can check their maps at any time.
If you have made any changes to your farm that will require mapping changes and RLE1’s to be submitted, the sooner these changes are made the better. It saves time when it comes around to the BPS submission window, and makes the process of completing your BPS a lot more straight forward if all the maps are up to date already. So please do think about whether any of the following changes have been made since your 2019 BPS submission.
• Land sale/transfer out
• Land purchase/transfer in
• Changes in permanent boundaries
• Merging of land parcels
• Splitting land parcels
• Addition of a permanent non-agricultural feature
• Removal of a permanent non-agricultural feature
