Planning Variety – Charles Holt (Lincoln) B2
My instructions on planning work vary widely. While they usually come from working farmers, that is not always the case. For instance, currently I am working for an accountant, and for an electronics engineer, both with minor agricultural interests.
My planning-related instructions also vary in the range of the work. So, last week I was instructed by a farmer who wanted to gain permission for a new farmhouse on an established farm. In the same week, I also received an instruction from a farmer to remove an ‘agricultural tie’ (i.e., an Agricultural Occupancy Condition) from a property which is now incidental to the operation of the farm. It is a matter of approaching the problem in the right way and presenting what I hope will be an intelligent and convincing case to the respective Local Planning Authority.
