Hedge Cutting Derogations – Don’t Forget!

back to News

Don’t forget, if you are sowing Oil Seed Rape or Temporary Grass Leys in August then it is possible to apply for a derogation allowing you to trim or cut your hedgerows associated with those land parcels.

If you do not apply for a derogation, then the GAEC 7 rules apply, being that you can’t cut or trim your hedges until 1 September.

Written permission must be received by the RPA in advance of any hedge cutting or trimming being done.  It is preferable this is done as soon as possible so that the written permission can be issued.

To apply for a derogation please contact Steph at stephemmerson@fcgagric.com or your local FCG office for help and assistance.
